A Long Day to go a Short Way

Remember the saying "mother always said there'd be days like this?" Today / yesterday was one of those days. I cannot believe that we could encounter so many delayed planes without even leaving the comfy confines of the Knoxville airport. After arriving at the airport at 8:30 am we were finally wheels up at 8:43 pm for our 30 minute flight to Atlanta. We checked into our hotel after midnight (don't ever try to get a hotel voucher in Atlanta!) and are sleeping fast and hard before an early departure for the airport tomorrow. The kicker for the day: no more chocolate chip cookies tonight at the Doubletree!

Tomorrow we will check in early at the airport and then work the Starbucks / Cinnabon places hard in order to use up our $14 meal vouchers. Then it's off to Tokyo Narita and connecting for an 8 pm arrival in Osaka. We'll be a day late but definitely a day wiser!

Many thanks to Kelsey's mom who made our afternoon go so much better with a trip to the movies (Ice Age - consensus is - skip it) and also provided a great dinner of Chick-fila. Thanks to the Maryville Chick-fila for treating us like royalty.
