Home Stay Shared by Tess
I have been staying in Japan with Senri High School student Shino, her little sister, and mother. The whole family has been extremely kind to me and I have enjoyed staying with them. We started my home stay by going to Shino`s english club. All the students were very nice and excited to meet an American. Three of the girls, including Shino, are preparing to travel to USA, so they had many questions for me. We all enjoyed American style pizza, chips, and soft drinks. We woke up the next morning and ate a traditional japanese style breakfast which consisted of rice, shrimp omelet, tofu, and miso soup. Next we started to walk to the train station. Shino and I walked by a shrine and put a ten cent yen into the donation as good luck. We continued to the train station and caught a train for the nearest shopping mall. Shino and I spent several hours shopping, playing in the arcade, and took pictures in a booth that we got to customized. Later we went home to enjoy home-cooked meal and some down time. It was a fun day!
